About

lynette profile_edited.jpg

Lynette Watkins has been a professional artist and professor of art most of her career.   Lynette primarily lives and works in Ruidoso, New Mexico, a picturesque village renown for the works of Michael and Peter Herd and members of the Wyatt family, and is in close proximity to Santa Fe, a most significant center for art.  The early artists of New Mexico, including Georgia O'Keefe, Nicolai Fechin, and Leon Gaspard have influenced Lynette’s work.  Additionally she spends time and works in East Hampton, NY enjoying the influences of Jackson Pollack and early expressionists.

Lynette’s recent accomplishment in the publication of Can It Be That Some Chains Are Mere

Shadows?, and the accompanying "Author's Guide", has evolved from the creation of an art sketchbook/journal for her son as well as one for the Brooklyn Art Library in 2012.

Lynette has a healthy record of exhibits in the United States and Europe and has been represented in some of the finest galleries and shows in Santa Fe, Albuquerque, Ruidoso, and Dallas, TX, as well as European galleries in Italy and France, and the Isle of Man.
